Lloyd’s Market Association names new regulatory affairs head

The Lloyd’s Market Association (LMA), which offers professional and technical support to the Lloyd’s underwriting community, has named John Levett as the head of regulatory affairs.

Reporting to LMA legal director Arabella Ramage, Levett’s new role will see him continue the work he began in October 2023, when he joined the association as senior executive, regulatory affairs.

Levett assumes the new role immediately.

His experience includes a stint at RSA Insurance as senior regulatory lead and a five-year term at the FCA as a technical specialist in general insurance compliance.

In addition, his expertise in product governance-related thematics and his leadership of the LMA committee for environmental and climate litigation will be instrumental in his new position.

Levett said: “I am delighted to be taking up this role at such an important time for our industry and our members. Smarter regulation can only help reinforce the London market’s global reputation as the centre of insurance and reinsurance technical expertise.”
